Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion is a great tan extender for the shaded tanning Mystic Spray Tan found at most tanning salons. You can also exercise Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion to extend the life of your existing real tan. You can buy this product at almost any tanning salon that has the Mystic Spray Sunless Tan booth. It is a real way to hold a natural looking sunless tan from fading too quickly.

I bought Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion in an attempt to end my contract with my local tanning bed salon. Last summer I decided to try using the tanning beds in a vain attempt to prepare my fair skin for an upcoming summer beach sail. When I came to my senses and realized how dangerous tanning beds were for my skin I decided to cancel my membership. During the time I tanned there I had built up a credit at the tanning salon. I used the credit to buy my sister and I each a bottle of the Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion. The very tan clerk behind the counter recommended it. She said both she and her mother used the Mystic Tan spray booth and the Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion to enhance their existing tan and to keep their spray tan from fading so snappily. Since the product was somewhat free and wouldn’t cause skin cancer I decided to try it.

Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion works just like any other self-tanner and tan extending lotion. You spread it on evenly over your entire body. After application the directions verbalize you to thoroughly wash your hands. One of the best features about Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion is the lack of mineral oils found in the lotion. Mineral oils can actually block you skin from soaking up natural sunlight and vitamin D. Although too noteworthy sun can be detrimental to your skin’s health, Vitamin D is a necessity for your body to be healthy.

My experience with Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion has been positive. I would definitely say it extended the life of my sunless spray tan by at least a week. I have used Mystic Tan spray tan as well as other sunless tanning products and this is a nice addition. A bottle of Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion will run you about $25.

If I could change anything about Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion it would be to execute the subtle self-tanners a miniature less subtle. I want a self tanner that will give noticeable results in one application. If you are timid about applying a self tanner or tan extender though Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion is a good product to start out with. I have never had streaks or discoloration on the palms of my hands when using this product. There is no SPF in Mystic Life Tan Extending Lotion, so you will need to apply your own sun block lotion if you are going to be in the sun.

How to Get Great Self Tanning Results – Spray Tanning Lotion

  • Self tanning takes time and preperation and should never been done on the same day as an outing.

Spring has arrived. Many of the states throughout the country have experienced temperatures more reminiscent of May than March. Sunny California is not particular sunny during the months of January, February and March; in fact those are the wettest months of the year. This year however, the arrival of spring has brought warmer weather and all this warm weather can mean only one thing. It’s bathing suit season.

Sun worshipers are already laying out their towels and beach bunnies have begun to infiltrate the coastlines. In order to show off that great new swim suit, a girl’s got to have a decent tan, proper? Right! The only problem with that theory is the risk of skin cancer. Since no one wants to look pale and ghostly in their beach wear I’m offering you a ton of tips on the alternative, suitable way to glow golden and bronzed without all those sun rays.

Self tanning has been around for a long, long time. Self tanning is the process of applying cream, lotion, or spray to the skin so that the results are a semi-permanent change in the color of the skin, thus the tan. Normally a self tan, or sunless tan other wise known as the spurious bake or fake tan, lasts between 2 to 10 days depending on the type of product and method broken-down. During the 1920’s Dihydroxyacetone, a chemical found in self tanning products, was found to turn the skin brown but the first sunless suntan cream wasn’t developed until the sixties by Coppertone. By the time the eighties rolled around people were slathering the lotions and creams on their bodies only to find that they had turned orange rather than brown.

I remember my first experience with a sunless tanning lotion. Self tanners were easy to spot in those days thanks to that awful Halloween pumpkin orange glow we emitted. Just recently several laws have been passed to limit the use of UV tanning beds and so once again Americans have fallen back on the old favorite, suntan creams. Times have changed and technology has advanced so that we no longer have the orange dilemma. There are more sunless tanning brands out there than you can shake a stick at and the techniques are as varied as the products themselves. There are lotions, creams, sprays; pills, air brushing and accelerators just to mention a few. Whether you are spraying or smearing there are a few things you should know. Here are some great tips to getting the best canned tan on the beach.

1. Take a shower first. You can’t expect to pick up a good even tan if your skin is coated in dead cells, dust and grime, all of which we regain on a daily basis.

2. Prior to applying any dismal tanning product to your skin, refrain from shaving. The more sensitive your skin, the worst your results will be if you shave. Remember you are applying a chemical to your skin.

3. Exfoliate your skin while you shower. You don’t want to scrub away your skin but you will need to pay special attention to the elbows, knees, ankles, feet and neck areas. Steer clear of nylon or loofah scrubbers though as they are sure to cause streaking.

4. Deodorant and antiperspirants cause self tanning products to streak. The best thing to do is construct sure you have the air conditioner running so that the room stays cold or rinse off in a cool shower before applying.

5. Wear gloves during the application. There really is no other design to avoid having orange palms. If you chose not to wear gloves makes certain you wash your hands every few minutes and scrub vigorously with a nail brush to serve rid of the stain.

6. There are a couple of neat tricks offered at sunless.com. One is to use a sponge paintbrush to apply the product. These are nifty puny items usually found in any craft store or the paint department of Wal-mart. Simply spray the solution onto the sponge and rub on your body to eliminate streaks and other application mistakes. The other tip is to use a baby wipe. Rinse a couple out in the sink and hang to dry. When they are completely dry spray with self tanning lotion or foam and wipe your body with it. Continue to spray the wipe as needed when it begins to dry out again.

7. Never apply any sunless tanning product the same day as an planned event or evening out. You never know what kind of disasters may arise from your self tanning adventure and you don’t want to be caught in public with unnatural skin color.

8. The best time to try self tanning is during the late winter when you can cover any mistakes with lots of clothing. Be sure to try different brands to find the one that suits you best and when you do your test session avoid covering the facial site until you know exactly what the outcome will look like.

9. Unless you’re a contortionist applying the tanners to your abet is quite difficult. One easy blueprint is to purchase a foam paint roller with a long handle on it. Do not try to substitute the foam for another material as foam is the only kind that works with this method. Apply the product to the roller and roll up and down your back. If you’re too leery of attempting that simply employ the help of a friend or spouse.

10. The only way to acquire your tan is to reapply the tanning solution every other day and moisturize on a daily basis. Your skin may dry out after repeated tannings so be sure to let the tan wear off completely after the third or fourth application.

If after all that, once you’ve scrubbed and moisturized you find that your tan has turned out very bad and you just want to catch rid of it you still have way of getting it off. It does bewitch work and could possibly make your skin sore, but there is a way.

The most natural arrangement to remove it is to just let time pass. It will eventually fade and disappear somewhere around 10 days later. During these times I think its best if you try to stay at home and avoid human contact because yes, people will notice. It’s your choice though, if you’d rather fair wait it out you can but don’t expect it to go unnoticed.

The other way to remove the sunless tanner is pleasing simple. When it comes to the face and neck areas baking soda does the trick. First get your face wet and then massage baking soda into the skin in small circles. Sometimes makeup remover will even remove a bad deceptive tan from your face. For the rest of your body dip a wash cloth in hydrogen peroxide and scrub away the tan. Do a test patch first to determine whether or not your skin will be irritated by it. You can also coat your body in baby oil and then grasp a shower using baking soda once again to scrub and exfoliate the tan away.

If after you gave all that a try and you find yourself stuck in the gross shade of orange, spy up it could be worst, you could be purple. If the tan refuses to come off then you might as well just accept it because there’s nothing in the world except for time that’s going to come by rid of it. Self tanning products like Coppertone, Banana Boat, Clinique and others are merely a stain. They do not dye your flesh or provide you with permanent results. There’s always a risk interested and you never know what the results will be until you give it a try. Don’t contemplate the product by what you see on someone else’s skin, everyone’s self tanning adventure is different.

The Benefits of Using Sunless Tanning Lotions – Sunless Tanning Lotion

Each day there are millions of individuals who try and get a beautiful tan. That can tan can be obtained from a number of different sources. There are many individuals who consume the sun and tanning beds to achieve their tan. While each of these sources may be a mountainous design to get a tan they are both potentially dangerous. As an alterative to sunbathing and tanning beds many individuals are using sunless tanning products to achieve a natural looking tan.

Sunless tanning lotions are the most common type of sunless tanners archaic today. There are gloomy tanning sprays and gels that offer the same results; however, many individuals prefer sunless tanning lotions. Murky tanning lotions are not the same as the may have been in the past. In fact many dismal tanning lotions were advanced and now offer better results thanks to science and technology.

The sun produces dangerous ultraviolet rays that are known to cause skin cancer and premature aging of the skin. These are the same rays that are developed and worn in tanning beds all around the world. Both the sun and tanning beds increase an individuals risk of obtaining skin cancer. If not treated skin cancer can be deadly.

Sunless tanning lotions do not use any perilous ultraviolet rays; in fact, most shadowy tanning lotions are made with completely harmless and common ingredients. The most common type of ingredient found in many sunless tanning lotions is that of Dihydroxyacetone, also known as DHA. This ingredients uses the outer layer of the skin to produce a brown or golden tan. Not all sunless tanning lotions use Dihydroxyacetone, but a large number of them do.

Tanning beds can be found at tanning salons and many beauty salons; however, they are often expensive to exercise. Unless being offered a tanning package that is discounted it is possible to pay up to twenty dollars a week or more for tanning. This can be very expensive for frequent tanners. Users of sunless tanning lotions to do not have the same problem.

Sunless tanning lotions arrive in all different size. While each brand of sunless tanning lotion will vary it is possible for a standard sunless tanning lotion bottle to last around one or two months. The price of a bottle of dark tanning lotion will vary depending on the imprint and size; however, most sunless tanning lotions cost between eight to twenty dollars. Most tanning applications last around one week or more; therefore, sunless tanning is not as expensive as tanning beds.

Another benefit to using sunless tanning lotions is the amount of time that it will take to achieve a tan. Many individuals must sunbath for a number of days or use a tanning bed for the same amount of time just to achieve a simple tan. Within minutes after using a sunless tanning lotion users are provided with a golden brown tan. Sunless tanning lotions are huge for unexpected vacations or events.

There are an unlimited number of benefits to using a sunless tanning lotion instead of sunbathing or tanning beds. Not only will you reduce your risk of developing skin cancer, but you can have a tan that you can literally take with you every where you go. Most bottles of sunless tanning lotion can fit in a aged purse or handbag so you have it whenever you need it.

Secrets for Successfully Using Sunless Tanning Products – Sunless Tanning Lotion

We all know that exposure to the sun is dangerous. That goes for faking a tan in a tanning bed, too. Both use the same detestable UV rays that permanently afflict the only skin we’ve got. Is there any way to get a tan that doesn’t involve scary health risks? Many people have asked themselves that same question, and have tried sunless tanning products as a solution to their problem.

Everybody wants a gorgeous looking tan, especially in the summer. It’s no fun to walk around and feel like you are the only pasty white person out there. Tanned skin looks slimmer and more toned, plus a tan makes you appear more active, outgoing, and fun-loving to others. But tanning in the UV rays of the sun costs more than it is worth.

It’s a good thing that there are many dusky tanning products out there as an alternative to UV ray tanning. These products won’t damage your skin and can get you a quality, natural-looking tan that won’t view any different from the real thing.

Depending on your tanning needs, a temporary bronzer could be an option. You can secure temporary bronzers in the cosmetics aisle with the other makeup products. That’s basically what it is. Applying it to your skin puts on a layer of darker shade that gives the appearance of a healthy tan—as long as it is a high-quality product and it is applied skillfully. At the end of the day, it can be washed off with soap and water like the rest of your makeup.

Sunless tanning lotion is another avenue. Lotions contain DHA, which is a simple sugar that reacts with the amino acids in your skin. Through a chemical reaction, your skin pigment actually becomes darker. DHA sounds like it might be risky, but it has been approved by the FDA and various dermatological societies as a expansive alternative to UV ray tanning. This is a more permanent solution that you don’t wash off—however, it does fade in about three days impartial like a regular suntan.

DHA products also come in a spray form. Sometimes a spray can be fine because it is easier to get an even application. Some people even go to a professional tanning salon or beauty spa to get professional application. They stand in a special booth that evenly sprays the product over their body, and they rub it in afterward.

UV-Free Sun Tanning Options – Airbrush Tanning Reviews

Not long ago, alabaster skin was prized. Fair complexions were the desired look for the leisure class, who had no need to earn their living with menial outdoor labor. The term blueblood, in fact, derived from the veins showing through the pale skin of royals at rest. Thanks to Coco Chanel, the San Tropez holiday glow became the new look for the fortunate and fashionable. A bronze body detached remains the beauty standard in Texas. A tan is slimming, hides a multitude of little flaws, and gives the appearance of a healthy and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Too much fun in the sun, however, causes serious afflict. From premature aging to melanomas, the safest bet for achieving a sexy bronze bod is to faux glow.

The options are diverse: gradual color-building lotions, self-applied tanners (in creams, foams, towelettes, mists, and more), powder bronzers, salon airbrushing, self-tanners applied by pros, and the Mystic Tan booth. All tanners seek a process that’s streak free, easy, lasting, and most importantly, not a shade of orange.
Here are a few of the top Dallas picks….

At Mari’s Skin Care Salon, the chemical-free and odorless Sun FX is gun-sprayed for complete coverage. After six hours, a gorgeous tan has magically developed. The color –one of three shades, and none of them orange- lasts 5 to 7 days before fading gracefully.

The Best Way to Wean Off the Tanning Bed
Mystic Tan
Okay, it sounds a little sci-fi…. Strip down and step into Jetsons-esque booth to be sprayed with an ultrafine mist of high-tech self tanner. “Magnetically” attracted to the skin, the mist creates a tranquil, even tan. Peak color develops in 24 hours. Like a feeble bed, once peak color is reached, it can be maintained with visits every 4 to 5 days.

Make that murky tan last longer with these beauty strategies….
· Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!
The smoother the skin, the less spotty the finished color. Exercise a loofah or pumice with special attention to rough areas before the application.

· Lotion up.
Frequent moisturizing skin will befriend hold color.

· Be patient.
If you’re playing kitchen beautician, take time to cover every inch and carefully rub in the product.

· Read product reviews.
Visit on-line beauty blogs to pick up advice from other consumers.

· Use tint judiciously.
To be on the righteous side, don’t self-tan apt before a big event.

Taking the sun out of the suntan is the best way to sustain delicate skin safe. Even though these products offer a golden glow, though, they don’t offer any sun protection. If you haven’t been vigilant in applying sunscreen, let May’s Melanoma Awareness Month be a caring reminder to start now. Pat Sheetz, owner of Mari’s Skin Care Salon, raves about ColorScience’s mineral powder. “It’s a pulverized titanium and zinc oxide sunscreen that goes on sheer,” says Ms. Sheetz. “The SPF is 30 and above. It’s water-resistant, it’s not greasy like other sunscreens, and everyone in the family can exercise it.”

Those who can’t get away on holiday now have several great ways to fake it. For those who still prefer to bask, the life of true suntans can be extended with fab bronzers, too.

Tan the Healthy Way – Safe Tan

A beautifully tanned skin may make you peep healthy but what is it actually doing to you if the tan comes directly from the sun or indeed for those that relish a year round tan from the tanning booth? More and more research is showing that tanning can go hand in hand with skin cancer. Thankfully many are now taking notice of this and are searching out alternative methods of creating the tan without the danger. These tans can look honest as good if applied properly.

Many suited salons now offer spray tanning as an alternative to the tanning booth and of course is sunless. There are also bronzers (creams and lotions) but these aren’t so good and do not give as good as a result as the spray technique. Also there are certain manufacturers that have devised spray tans that you can exhaust yourself at home.

Whichever way you decide to have the spray tan applied there are some simple but important rules to follow:

1. You should remove any dead skin by exfoliating. If you don’t do this the tanning agent will just fall off and you will have a patchy tan which is not beautiful. After you have exfoliated apply a moisturizer so that your skin stays moist. You are now ready for the tan to be applied.

2. Should you decide to apply the tan yourself make sure that you wear gloves else you will succumb to the dreaded orange palm syndrome….Be sure to apply lighter coats to your fingers, knees, elbow and feet. If you don’t these will turn out darker which is a obvious give away that you are sporting a fake tan.

3. Once applied remain as still as possible to avoid dripping and running. Remove any excess with a towel. This way you will get an even tan.

4. Keep in mind that tanning agents will tan anything! Including your towels and clothes. It is best to wear old clothes straight after the tan is applied just in case there should be some rub off. It is also a good idea to wear something murky especially if you have to meet people straight after or else they may be able to guess where you have come from…..Looking healthy and tanned is most peoples dream but it really is not worth risking your health for so be informed and look to something that is safe and sad.

Finally a Sunless Tanner that Spares Your Palms from Tanning – Airbrush Tanning

As a avid fan of almost every Neutrogena product, I was quite excited to see that they have brought in a new shadowy tanning product. In my opinion, after using trying several dark tanners, Neutrogena has the been the brand that I have had the best results with. From the foams, sprays, and lotions, Neutrogena always leaves me looking like I had a spent a few weeks at the beach. Anyone that used used sunless tanners before knows the hassle of having to wash your hands thoroughly after using a sunless tanning product. With some black tanners it seems that no matter how thoroughly you have washed your hands, there still seems to be a darker tint to your palms. Seems as though Neutrogena has picked up on the hand scrubbing hassle as well. In turn, they have a new product out that is a dream come true to a sunless tanner. For $9.99, I purchased Neutrogena’s new MicroMist Tanning Sunless Spray .

Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning Sunless Spray

Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning Black Spray is a self tanning mist that is applied to your skin “hands free”. Unlike the traditional plastic tubes or bottles, this spray comes in a aerosol type bottle, and sprays on kind of like hair spray.

Neutrogena claims this product is like an airbrush spray and will easily work in angles for hard to reach places (such as your back). They also promise that once applied, the mist will dry will in less than 5 minutes. Unlike most self tanners that advise on waiting to shower for a full two hours, Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning Sunless Spray says that after the 5 minute time alloted for the mist to dry, you can shower, dress, and go. The tanner is oil free, alcohol free, and non-comedogenic (meaning it will not clog pores).

Of course, the directions for using this particular sunless tanner is a bit different than the usual tanners because you don’t have to bother using your hands. After your skin has been exfoliated (this gives the best results), hold the can at least 6 inches away from the area of your body that you want to spray. Sweep the spray evenly across your skin and make sure to keep the can in constant motion. To avoid over applying, it is very well-known to stop the spray at the end of each stroke. As with all dusky tanners, employ this spray sparingly around your elbows, knees, and ankles. The only time your hands need to used if you want to use the spray on your face. In that case, you will need to spray some of the mist into your hands and apply (being careful around your eyes, eyebrows, and hairline).

After applying, it usually takes about two to four hours for the full tan to take effect. If you are not satisfied and would like a deeper tan, simply reapply the mist again. The tan will usually last for several days.

My experience with Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning Sunless Spray

After preparing my skin to use the tanner, I did just as the directions suggested. I held the tanner at an angle and started out with a continuous motion for each stroke. The first thing I noticed is that this tanner is the lightest feeling tanner that I’ve used so far. The application was painless and went on smoothly. I had my entire legs covered in less than five minutes. Since I could tell that the areas of my legs were slightly wet, it was easy not to miss any spots. Next, I tried my relieve and I must say I have fell in love with this product just because of this experience. I started spraying at an angle over my shoulder. Again in less than 5 minutes, I felt the spray hit every angle of my attend. The application for the rest of the areas were no different. It was an easy and quick process, but best of all my hands stayed dry the entire time.

The one thing that always gets to me about the sunless tanners is the scent. Sorry to say that this sunless tanner is no different. This product certainly does the “sunless tanning ” scent as well. However, I really didn’t notice any scent at all when applying. But a few hours later, I could smell a scent that wasn’t really unpleasant, but not really wonderful either. After showering however, the scent does go away.

After applying, I noticed that it took my skin approximately an hour and a half before a full tan took place. The results were outstanding. There were no missed spots and the tan looked perfectly natural. After 5 days my tan calm looked as good as it did when I first applied the product. Going on the 6th day, I noticed that the tan was starting to depart a bit. Of course, this is my own experience and each skin type and person will be different. Some may have the tanner last a few days longer, and it may be a day or so shorter with others.

Final Recommendation

I must say unless someone else comes out with something that is hands free and can top my experience with this product, I will from now be using Neutrogena MicrMist Tanning Sunless Spray as my sole source for sunless tanning. Everything that Neutrogena promises about the product they do fulfill. The application was simple, the spray went on evenly, and the results were just as I would have expected from a Neutrogena product. Therefore, I do recommend this product to anyone looking for a safe alternative to the sun looking for a healthy looking tan.

Top 5 Best Self Tanners

I admit I am a self tanner junkie and I have tried it all. I know which ones make you orange and which ones smell too bad to stand. I also know which ones dry the fastest, give you the best results, and have the least smells. Here are my top 5 that are always in my house.

Tan Towel

Maybe the best self tanner out there. It is a towel that you unfold and wipe all over your body. Basically you wash yourself with the provided “towel” whose consistency is like a baby wipe. It dries fast and somehow works with your natural chemicals in your body to create the perfect, natural, believable tan for you. It has no smell, no streaks, and color develops usually within 3 hours. I find it is best to apply after a shower before bed so the product can really occupy into your skin. The only problem is that you cannot see where you are applying it but as long as you go over and over the areas that usually isn’t a predicament. You cannot apply too much so that is also another added bonus. You can buy them in bulk or individually. They run about 3$ for an individual packet. I accumulate mine at my local Ricky’s in NYC but http://www.tantowel.com/index.asp? PageAction=Custom&ID=94 can show you where you can get them by you.

Sephora Sun Tinted Bronzing Mist Spray Tan

This is a great inexpensive spray tan that works amazingly well. It can only be found in local Sephora stores and runs for $12.00. It lasts for about 2 months depending how often you need to touch up. It dries quickly, has a pleasant but not strong smell, and leaves a tint on your skin when first applied. It is so easy to apply to the hard to reach spots like your back, or back of legs. Also, if you happen to go overboard with coverage it seems to come off easily with a washcloth and soap yet doesn’t fade that quickly without scrubbing.

Sunbrushed Tanning Solution

This one is hard to find but you can order it at http://www.sunbrushed.com/Products.asp. Similar to tan towels but a little messier. It is a deep chocolate formula that comes with gloves, and a microfiber towel that you dip into the formula and then wash onto your body. I like this because it is easy to see where it goes when applied, and application with the towel exfoliates while you apply. It is really easy to apply and it smells nice. It also dries quickly and the next day after you shower excess comes off and you are left with a great looking tan. It runs about $20.00 for a 2 application kit.

Clinique Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion
This is new to the market but I am a fan already. It smells good going on and dries quickly. It does over time come by that self tanner smell but not as strongly as most self tanners out there. It is tinted so you can gaze where you are applying and it comes in both light and medium to match your skin tone. I like that it immediately shows some color and it is very natural looking. You can find it at most department stores and it runs about $20.00

Fake Bake Instant Air Brush Self Tan Spray
This is very similar to the Sephora Spray tan but bigger and slightly better. It doesn’t clog the pores with “tan” color which can make the skin look like it’s dirty. it dries fast, and it lasts long. It doesn’t smell, a little goes a long way, and it looks very natural. I really like this product for touch ups and when I want a bronze natural looking tan. The only problem is the imprint, it retails for $30.00.

With all the sinister things that can happen to you from tanning in a booth, or sitting in the sun, it is nice to eye that there are some great self tanners out there that work really well. These 5 are the best I have tried so far and work really well to create a natural tan that fades away naturally, and can be kept up easily.
